The Journey of June - Part 6

Thursday morning June 28th, we all got up early before the sun was out in full force, and took a drive down Kings Canyon road to Zumwalt Meadows.

It was a 1.5 mile loop hike around this gorgeous meadow, partly surrounded but the canyon walls, and fallen rocks. It was a pretty, and very enjoyable walk.

I love these lime green "bamboo shoots" that grow in swampy areas, they are so fun to play with! ;)

We ran into some mosquitoes in these woods, but that was all. Even though the others were all hoping we'd spot a black bear or two ;p

Once we got out of the wooded area we started climbing through the rock portion of the trail.

We finished up the trail and headed down the road to cool off at Roaring River Falls.

We all let our feet have a nice soak in the cold water for a little while before heading back to camp for lunch. We spent the rest of that day just hanging out and chilling by the river.
