The Journey of July - Part 10

After our crazy night out on the town, we were a tad sluggish getting going the morning of July 5th, but still managed to get out of the hotel by 9:00am. Our first stop was at Wal-Mart in Reno, NV ;p

Not long after we got out of the city we started to see bits of white on the ground on each side of the road. Nathan finally realized what it was, Salt Flats!

After driving along it for quite a while our curiosity finally got the better of us and we jumped out of the car to check it out for ourselves. It was literally a thin layer of salt all crusted on top of the soft earthy mud underneath. It was almost squishy to walk on. Definitely a super cool thing to experience! And very salty!

A little while later we started getting back into more canyon/mountain country and things started to get a little greener as we got nearer to Idaho.

It was an absolutely beautiful evening to drive around some gorgeous country. The sky was so blue!

We hit the Idaho boarder around 9:00pm, and made it to our campground in Twin Falls about half an hour later.

We got the tent set up, made some hot dogs, and just hung out and talked for a while before hitting the hay around 10:30.
