The Journey of July - Part 9

July 3rd was the day we all had to part ways and start making our towards home. Brian, Crystal and Jacob headed home to southern Cali, Nathan's family back to TN and we made our way up to Carson City for the night. With plans to go to Lake Tahoe for the 4th.

It was a gorgeous drive back to Northern California. Lots of mountains and pretty things to see.

We made it to our hotel in Carson City, NV around 7:00pm. After almost 2 weeks, we got to shower in a real bathroom, chill in the air conditioning, and watch some TV like good 'ol first world Americans haha.

We got up the next morning and started our trek back to South Lake Tahoe, CA.

We caught out first glimpse of it around noon, boy was it a beautiful sight!

That was seriously some of the prettiest blue water I have ever seen, and it wasn't even freezing cold!

After spending some time at the east side of the lake we got back in the car and made our way to South Lake to scope out a place to watch the fireworks show.

We ended up in a nice grassy area by the beach, it was a nice cozy spot in the shade. We chilled there for a while, and ate some lunch.

Then we walked down and stuck our toes in the water, it felt so good!

After that we decided to walk around downtown a bit and found an ice cream shop ;)

When we got back a band playing super cool Mexican salsa sounding music was there entertaining the waiting crowd. It was so fun!

It was such a nice relaxing day by the lake, and so enjoyable just taking it all in watching the sun go down.

The fireworks began right on time at 9:45 after the sun set. They went along with their city radio station, which was super cool!! Definitely an awesome show!

They didn't last too super long, but it was still amazing and so fun being with so many people all celebrating our country. We survived the traffic and made our way back to the hotel. We got to bed probably around 1:00 or so. But it was totally worth it!!
