Canada & Beyond - Day 12

We opened our eyes the morning of August 24th to a spectacular view of Lake Michigan.

We packed up camp after a quick breakfast.

After packing up we went down to the beach to check out the view.

We got on the concrete walkout to get a little bit closer view of the lighthouse.

Though we didn't make it too far down because there were some very territorial seagulls holding their own.

After a few minutes we went back to shore and snapped a few more pictures before getting on the road.

It was about 9am when we got on the road with home as our final destination for the night.

We got into Escanaba, MI and were all in the mood for some coffee, so found a cute place to make a quick stop at.

It was such a quaint little place!

Very classy right?!

It was a beautiful drive through some pretty countryside.

It was a smooth, easy, drive through the rest of Michigan and Wisconsin. Before we knew it we were almost to Minnesota!

Since we were making such great time we decided to go through Duluth and visit some of our favorite places there. Also Hayley had never been there before so we were all excited to show her one of our favorite cities!

The harbor was our first stop once we pulled into Duluth.

The girls walked around outside for a bit while Nathan and I checked out the harbor museum.

He always enjoys looking at the displays and learning more about the whole shipping process.

Nathan really wants a boat ;)

After walking around in there for a while we went out side to join the others.

It was super windy, there were people down on the beach trying to enjoy the water, not sure how much fun they were having. Haha

Quick selfie in the sun before heading back to the car.

It was supper time and so we decided to head up to Enger tower and make some dinner.

We made some tacos which we thoroughly enjoyed!

After filling our bellies we walked out to the cliffside overlook to take in the gorgeous view.

There was an oil tanker coming in to the bay, so we stuck around to watch it.

Nathan and Julia took Hayley up to the tower so she could fully experience the grand view!

Faith works in performing arts and had an audition for a play due that evening, so I stayed down below with her to film it. It was a fun night!

As we drove down the hill all the city lights were aglow, it was a totally breathtaking sight.

It was around midnight before we pulled into Bemidji and dropped Faith off at her place. The rest of us continued on to our house where the girls had left their cars. It was a late night and we were all totally exhausted, but man it was so worth it! After 12 crazy packed days of adventure, our travels had come to a close. As sad as we were for it to be over, I am so glad we were able to pull it all off and have so many wonderful experiences that we will remember for a life time.
Thank you all for following along this journey and being so patient! I'm excited to share more of my adventures with you all in the future blog segments to come :)
