Canada & Beyond - Day 4 - Part 3

After getting off of the bridge we were all just so giddy about finally arriving on PEI after so much driving over the past few days. We had the Anne of Green Gables soundtrack blaring and were in this surreal state the rest of our time there. It was just so hard to believe we were there! ;)

Our destination for that night was Prince Edward Island National Park campground, so we took the left turn option and headed in that direction.

So many cute farms and lots and lots of potato fields!

Just as Anne called it, the roads were red and so was the dirt ;)

I just loved this house so much haha

We didn't go in, but at least saw Lucy's birthplace. Yay ;p

Headed towards Cavendish!

We got to the campground just as the sun was beginning to go down.

Finally got to set up camp in the daylight! haha

Such a great view, it doesn't get much better than this!

Went down to the beach and walked around in that beautiful red sand.... It was, *sigh* just incredible.

Those gorgeous red cliffs though.

Watching the sun go down over the water and walking on the beach... It was definitely a night to remember.

We ate some supper and loaded up around 9:00pm to go pick Tia, the new addition to our road tripping group, from the Charlottetown airport. It was only about a 30 minute drive there from our campsite.

I found her! ;D

There were a few things we needed from the store, so we went down the road to a Walmart, which was actually closed... at 10pm haha. So we found this Atlantic Superstore, which we had discovered was Canada's main grocery store everywhere we went.

Got what we needed and headed back to camp, crawled in to bed and had a wonderful night's sleep. It was so peaceful listening to the waves crash up on the shore, and thankfully the wind was not as strong as the night before. More about our time on Prince Edward Island and seeing Green Gables, in the next post!
