Canada & Beyond - Day 4 - Part 1

It was pretty late when we got to our campsite the night of the 15th, and we were all completely exhausted so just crawled straight in bed after setting up our tents. We were rudely awakened in the middle of the night by very, very, strong winds blowing our tent in almost on top of us. I couldn't sleep so crawled in the car for the remainder of the night, but the rest of the group seemed to fare okay. We discovered that Hurricane Gert, was blowing up the Eastern coast of the US and Canada, which was just resulting in a lot of strong winds in our area. They were 35-45 mph during the night, which is a lot for a tent to put up with! haha.

We got up early and moving that morning (Aug. 16th) and went around the corner from the campground we were staying at, and made our way down to the boat dock, of sorts out on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.

The first thing we saw down by the water was a bunch of sand sculptures that looked like they had been created for a contest of some sort. They were all pretty impressive! Some were weirder than others ;p

From what I can gather from these very "in French" signs haha, there used to be a lot more to this area than there is now. I thought these pictures were interesting even if you can't understand the words.

Morning faces are just the best haha

We got on the road after that and loved the neighborhood we were in! So many cute houses like this one!

The landscape was just lovely in this area, we really liked it a lot. There was a large amount of marsh land in between where we were at and the Gulf.

Lots of farms and fields in this cute valley.

We thought this house was very classy, and so different from everything else we saw on this route.

Went around a bend and came upon this beauty, and across the street was this huge museum!

It wasn't open at the time, but I was happy I snapped a few shots of it before we left.

Here are some more shots of that marsh land I was talking about before. It was hazy that morning but still so pretty.

A few miles down the road we found this super quaint little French cafe, and were pleasantly pleased with our visit there.

We were greeted in French right as we walked in the door, and loved that the menu and everything was all in french too. Was just a fun little bit of culture we got to experience.

The coffee and food we had for breakfast was simply delicious!

After that delightful stop we stayed on the road for a long time, making our way towards New Brunswick!

I had a fun time trying to pronounce all the French words on the signs we passed. I don't know how much everyone else in the car loved listening to me hahaha. But hey it was entertaining ;p

I really loved this scenery, little lakes and bluffs.

Welcome to New Brunswick!

We pulled into Fredericton very hungry and ready for some lunch, so found a pizza place on the way in and called ahead so we could grab it and go. We ate on the road and just kept booking it towards Prince Edward Island! I'm breaking this post off here, and will continue with Day 4 in the next one!
