Southern Travels - Part 2

Hey all, sorry it's taken me so long to finally get around to making this second post about our trip. It's been a crazy last couple of weeks in my world. But anyway, on to the post!

As you may recall from my previous post, we left the state park and began to make our way to South Carolina.

We drove along some really curvy, narrow, back roads and enjoyed some gorgeous scenery along the way.

We made it to the tree house in Walhalla, around 5:00pm and immediately jumped out of the car to explore all there was to see!

Walking down the path was like discovering a little slice of paradise. It felt so surreal!

The interior was just as unbelievably breathtaking as the outside.

After exploring for a little while and getting every little detail photographed, we sat down to figure out where to go eat supper. We settled on a Mexican place that had been suggested to us by the Bolt family. It most definitely did not disappoint! That was the best chimichanga I have ever had, by far.

We came back to discover the tree house all lit up, it looked so dreamy! After taking some pictures, we sat down in the bed under the tree house and talked for a while and listened to the critters and sounds of the great outdoors before going inside and heading to bed.

That was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and definitely had the best view.

After enjoying a quaint little breakfast I braved the outdoor shower experience, and was so glad that I did, It was so cool!!

It did start to sprinkle on me as I was finishing up, which just added to the adventure of it all haha. It quit raining for a little bit later on, so we walked around the trails and checked out different parts of the property.

After that went into Walhalla for some lunch with plans to do some hiking afterwards.

As we were eating I guess hurricane Matthew thought it would be a good idea to move inland some more, and it started totally pouring rain.... Sooo we had a change of plans and decided to head into the 'big city' and drove to Greenville, about an hour east of us.

An umbrella was purchased, as well as a warm cup of coffee and we walked around downtown to see what we could find.

We went down to Falls Park river walk and found some pretty sites to see!

We were both pretty much soaked after walking around for a couple hours, let's just say the umbrella was not that large... ;) So for a pick me up we made a quick stop by Krispy Kreme as we made our way to the hotel for the night.

It felt really good to be warm and dry after a long wet day, so we got in our comfy clothes and watched some tv before hitting the hay for the night.

I'll try and get the next post done a tad sooner this time... so please believe me when I say 'stay tuned' ;)
