The Wedding March - Part 2

We said farewell to the Gander's around 9:30 Friday morning, March 3rd, and started heading south.

It's always an odd, curious feeling, waking up somewhere you arrived after dark the night before. You all of a sudden are in a place with a totally different landscape than you saw previously... Maybe it's a weird observation, but something I've always found interesting haha.

It was such a beautiful day, I always love seeing a bright blue sky and at least a few fluffy clouds ;)

Time flew by pretty fast and in no time we were heading into St. Louis, MO.

Best bathroom directions ever ;p

Not posting this to say I promote graffiti, but all I could think of when I saw this way up on that overpass was, how the heck did they even get up there and do all that without anyone noticing??!! Any ideas?

Aw yeah, gotta love the Arch, Gateway to the West!

We took a bit of a pit stop in St. Louis and got some food at Chick-Fil-A, our go to spot when we are south of home enough to find one!

After our hunger was satisfied we went to the mall and found a few good deals, and then we went to a car wash across the street to wash all the country dirt off our car so we fit into the city scene a bit better ;) After all that was done we got back on the interstate and headed towards Memphis!

The landscape south of the city almost immediately changes into more of the Ozark lookin' stuff ;)

The sunset that evening was amaaazing! As you can see below. That plus the gorgeous countryside was a beautiful way to wrap up a long day of driving.

We pulled in to Memphis right as it was getting officially dark, I have yet to drive into Memphis when it's daylight ;p But I was just thankful there wasn't a tornado chasing us like last time we went there!! haha

There's this super cool pyramid off the side of the interstate as you come in to town. They recently turned it in to a Bass Pro, it looked super cool all lit up in green. These pictures don't do it justice!

We got to our hotel around 7:30 or so, and had everything unloaded and in our room not too long after that. We made some hot dogs in the microwave for supper, and just chilled in our room for the rest of the evening.

The next post will be about the rest of the weekend and of course the wedding! So as always, stay tuned!
