Canada & Beyond - Day 5 - Part 2

Once we left Green Gables on the afternoon of August 17th, we started making our way up the coast along some of the beach view drives. It was getting windier and rained off and on, so it was more like one of those moody days by the sea, than a gorgeous day on the beach. Still super pretty though!

Since it wasn't raining at the time, we decided to park at Shaws beach and check it out, and were so glad we did!

It was VERY windy, so we bundled up a bit, and braced ourselves against it haha. The waves were crashing up on the shore and making a lot of noise, and it was a bit chilly, but that didn't stop us.

The cool temps didn't stop Hayley! She took it all in and made the most of the situation ;)

A little bit of Annie decided trivia based on the Anne of Green Gables movies ;p This location is one of the places I believed they filmed, or inspired at least, the scene where Anne is writing in Anne of Avonlea, and it's super windy and all her papers start blowing away, over into the yard in front of the White Sands Hotel. Which is actually quite close by, and we visited later that day. Doesn't it look just like it?!

Nathan managed to get a picture of us all, without our hair blowing all over our faces haha!

The wind was blowing the sand across the beach making cool patterns and it was really neat! As long as you didn't look into it and open your eyes at the wrong moment ;p haha

Never actually found a live crab on this trip to take a picture of, but oh well, dead ones do sit still better ;)

Right there, that's where I think Anne was sitting ;) In my opinion haha

Tia in her natural habitat! ;)

After a while, I was tired of trying not to be blown into the sea...and we had a lot left to accomplish for the day. So we had to say farewell to the lovely Shaws beach and head back to the car.

After driving for a bit we pulled off on the side of the road, and Nathan and I jumped out to check out this cute little lighthouse in Covehead Bay. Very Canadian isn't it!

We saw some people parasailing down on the water, so walked down for a second to grab a few pictures and watch for a minute.

I think this was my favorite lighthouse scene on the trip, it was just so quiet and quaint. Nothing extravagant, and not many people lurking around to get in the way ;)
We got back on the road and started heading to Dalvay-by-the-Sea, aka, White Sands Hotel in the movies. Which I will share in the next post, as well as our time spent in Charlottetown.
